A strategist / Creative planner’s function – They often get us wrong, don’t they?

I do know how attractive my CV is, and that motivates hiring managers so much to have a chat with me or in some cases hires me right away. I’m thankful for that, it didn’t come out of nowhere and it took a lot of progress to reach where I am now.

So for the past 3 to 4 interviews for a job as a strategist or a digital creative planner, I found out that hiring manager has the wrong idea about what a strategist or a creative planner does and how it compares to a digital marketer job which you can say they are close but only in some points.

Speaking for myself of course, a strategist or a creative planner is: a person with great knowledge in obtaining user insights, market trends, and create research for a brand’s users. Able to create a complete digital creative plan (since I am digital) to tackle consumers with the right relevant message and media. So I often in front of my PPT and Google tools all day, every day. And when there is something I need to convey to the team I ask for a meeting.

A digital marketer will yes find insights but instead of creating a plan, will create many micro plans to achieve goals. With the right message and media of course. A digital marketer is more on the Analytical side rather than the creative/psychological side.

Then that last company that mistook me as a (VFX and story teller), which is not in no way shape or form mentioned in my CV. Is completely weird.
